Menonton wayang dengan kawan hari ini...

"Apa-apa aje la... asalkan bukan citer melayu..." Oops... jangan salah sangka dulu. Aku bukan prejudis dengan filem-filem melayu. Cuma aku cuba elakkan menonton cerita-cerita ringan yang bagi aku 'not worth every penny'. Filem-filem seperti Embun, Puteri Gunung Ledang, Bunohan etc, aku boleh tonton di pawagam. Filem-filem komedi ringan, tunggu raya sure keluar kat TV.
So filem apa yang aku pilih?
Ya... Universal Soldier: Day Of Reckoning. Why? Sebab ada Van Damme, one of my favorite action star. Tapi tak banyak pun scene dia dalam filem ni. Pelakon lain, Scott Atkins (memegang watak utama yang bernama John) dan Dolph Lundgren. Scott who???
Intro jer dah ganas. Babak bunuh yang sangat mengerikan. Itu baru intro belum lagi the whole movie. Inilah kali pertama aku begitu teruja menonton keganasan di layar perak. Rasanya filem SAW lebih ganas kot, cuma ada babak-babak dalam filem SAW yang aku tak sanggup nak tonton. Tapi untuk filem ini, mata aku 'menerima' semuanya, tanpa perlu mengalihkan pandangan dan berpura-pura melihat jam tangan atau handphone. Babak-babak ganas dalam filem ini begitu berseni sekali... erkk... definitely not for kids. Kalau anda ingin lihat teman wanita anda terjerit-jerit dengan gediknya di dalam pawagam, inilah filem yang sesuai ditonton.

John (Scott Adkins) awakens from a coma to discover his wife and daughter were slaughtered in a brutal home invasion. Haunted by images of the attack, he vows to kill the man responsible: Luc Deveraux (Jean-Claude Van Damme). While John tries to piece his reality back together, things get more complicated when he is pursued by a relentless UniSol named Magnus (Andrei Arlovski). Meanwhile, Deveraux and surviving UniSol Andrew Scott (Dolph Lundgren) are preparing to battle anarchy and build a new order ruled by Unisols without government oversight. They are weeding out the weak and constantly testing their strongest warriors in brutal, life-and-death combat. Luc has emerged operating the Unisol Church of Eventualism, taking in wayward Unisols whom the government has been secretly operating as remote-controlled sleeper agents. His mission is to liberate these Unisols from the implanted memories and the lies the government has inserted in them. As John gets closer to Deveraux and the rogue army of genetically enhanced warriors, he discovers more about himself and begins to call into question everything he believed to be true.
